Hi Everyone! Welcome to My First Blog Post!

Welcome to the launch of my first ever blog, Aesthetic Diaries! My name is Koketso Rabanye but everyone calls me Koki, I am so excited to share with you MORE of what Aesthetic Diaries has to offer! The amount of ideas, how-to’s and inspiration whirling around in my head is ready to jump out. I wanted to start by telling you why I created this blog, what you will be seeing more of in my posts, and my overall experience of creating my website.

Why I started my blog

Gosh, where do I even begin? I guess this all started way back, I am a absolutely addicted to reading. For me, there's nothing better than grabbing a good book every once in a while with a hot cup of tea. Other than that, I have a huge interest in content creation. I always scroll through my Instagram or Youtube just to check out random content created by other people, so I sat down and thought to myself “Why don’t I just start a blog?!” thinking that it would be easy, I thought of blogging being the same as writing a Facebook or Twitter post. WRONG I WAS. There's a whole lot more that goes into it and after doing much research and making friends with a few bloggers along the way, who have been so kind to offer much support and advice, I have become completely consumed with inspiration to start a blog. I have finally realised all of the benefits that blogging can bring.

What you'll be seeing in my posts

It was really hard thinking this through because I am a journalism student, I'll be posting a few news articles around on the site to sharpen my skills but there is so much I want to talk about that I don't want to limit it to one topic. So, get ready because you will be seeing much more of the face behind Aesthetic Diaries (me), and a mixture of lifestyle, hobbies, entertainment, and a few surprises along the way. Writing has never been a strong suit of mine and I will tell you, I am no expert on any of this. I may be a “perfectionist” but I am nowhere near perfect. I figure it will be a lot of trial and error so please bear with me on any grammar/spelling mistakes (disclaimer – I like to talk with many dashes, metaphors and parentheses) and please feel free to always share your advice and communicate with me along the way! I hope to inspire you because truthfully, you all inspire me and I am SO looking forward to bringing you a more aesthetic way of living.

My experience whilst creating the website

After being inspired to start my blog, I wanted to act fast. This is not a fast task people, you cannot get a website up and running within a day. Not only did I want to start a blog, but I was ready to create a brand and website which I created on my own. Creating a website and/or blog is WORK and if you’re looking for that ideal web designer – be prepare to be on a waiting list (and pay a fortune). However, I believe in putting myself in the books to learn new skills even if it's outside my area of expertise. I like a challenge, luckily I was able to understand how web development works.
